Robert Griffin passed for 400-plus yards and four touchdowns, Jay Finley had two rushing scores, and the Baylor Bears went on to a 47-42 victory over Kansas State on Saturday. With the victory, Baylor is bowl eligible for the first time since 1995.

After waiting out a two-hour weather delay, Griffin got the shootout started with a 28-yard touchdown pass to Josh Gordon on the first drive of the game.

From that point on, the teams traded scores.

Kansas State running back Daniel Thomas had two touchdown runs, including a 10-yard scamper in the second quarter to tie the game at 21-21.

Baylor ended the half by scoring 10 unanswered, highlighted by Griffin’s 47-yard touchdown pass to Gordon, and headed to the locker rooms with a 31-21 lead.

In the second half, Baylor opened with another scoring drive that ended with a 30-yard field goal from Aaron Jones.

But the Wildcats didn’t go away, as William Powell returned the ensuing kickoff 100 yards to cut the deficit to 34-28.

Baylor then pulled away with 14 straight, as Finley had a 2-yard scoring run and Griffin connected with Kendall Wright for a 30-yard touchdown pass to take a 47-28 lead.

Kansas State pulled to within two scores, 47-35, on Daniel Thomas’ 67-yard touchdown pass to Aubrey Quarles with 14:46 left. The Wildcats added a late touchdown when Carson Coffman scored on a 1-yard quarterback sneak with 15 seconds left.
