Rob Bolden and Matt McGloin combined to throw three touchdown passes as visiting Penn State found some offense Saturday in a 33-21 victory over Minnesota.

The true freshman Bolden completed 11-of-13 passes for 130 yards in the first half before leaving with concussion-like symptoms. He hit Brett Brackett for 21 yards on Penn State’s first possession to open the scoring.

McGloin, listed No.3 on the depth chart, replaced Bolden and threw a 42-yard touchdown pass to Derek Moye for his first college completion. That gave Penn State a 21-7 edge with 4:16 left in the first half. The sophomore hit Moye again for 9 yards in the fourth to push the edge to 33-14.

McGloin finished 6-of-13 for 76 yards, with an interception.

The Nittany Lions (4-3, 1-2 Big Ten) scored just 16 points in their last two games, lopsided losses to Iowa and Illinois.

Adam Weber threw three touchdown passes to Da’Jon McKnight for Minnesota (1-7, 0-4 Big Ten), which lost its seventh straight and first under interim head coach Jeff Horton. Weber completed 26-of-49 passes for 299 yards to become the fifth Big Ten quarterback to surpass 10,000 career yards.
