Taylor Potts threw two touchdowns, Matt Williams connected on two long, fourth-quarter field goals and Texas Tech rallied for a 27-24 victory over Colorado, marking the first time the Red Raiders have won at Folsom Field.
For most of the game, though, Colorado seemed to be in control. The Red Raiders never led until the end of the game, when they scored 13 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to pull off the dramatic comeback.
Trailing 24-14 going into the final quarter, Tech’s first play was a 40-yard field goal from Williams. Then, Potts hooked up with Lyle Leong for a 7-yard touchdown pass to tie the game at 24-24.
With 2:13 left, the Red Raiders then delivered what proved to be the knockout blow on their final drive of the game, as Williams drilled a 36-yard field goal.
Potts’ other touchdown pass came in the third quarter, a 15-yard play to Alexander Torres.
Colorado took a 24-14 lead after Cody Hawkins and Paul Richardson hooked up for two touchdowns in the third quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Buffs never got back in the end zone.
