No. 9 LSU won ugly, again. The Tigers trudged past McNeese State 32-10 Saturday at Tiger Stadium.
Michael Ford and Stevan Ridley scored two touchdowns for LSU (7-0), which meets fellow unbeaten No. 7 Auburn in a huge SEC West showdown next week.
One would think Les Miles' team would have played better than it did in beating McNeese State of the FCS. The visiting Cowboys took an early lead on Cody Stroud's short
touchdown pass to Damion Dixon, and Josh Lewis' 23-yard field goal put the visitors
up again, 10-7, early in the second quarter.
But LSU scrounged up enough offense to score the game's final 22 points.
Ridley scored twice in the first half, including a 10-yard touchdown run that put LSU up 14-10 early in the second quarter. Ford scored twice in the second half, and finished with a team-high 86 yards rushing.
The two Tiger quarterbacks, Jarrett Lee and Jordan Jefferson, combined to complete 14 of 22 passes for 103 yards.
McNeese State (2-4) was held to 219 total yards.
