Andy Dalton threw four touchdown passes, including a pair to Josh Boyce, and the defense had another strong outing as fifth-ranked TCU went on to a 31-3 victory over BYU on Saturday afternoon.
TCU started off slowly, managing only three points in the first quarter. And, with less than two minutes left in the first half, the Frogs still only had a 3-0 lead.
But Dalton finally got the Frogs’ offense rolling, connecting with Boyce on a 35-yard touchdown pass with 1:30 left in the half. Then, Dalton had a 14-yard touchdown completion to Jimmy Young.
With that, the game never seemed in doubt. After all, the TCU defense entered the game with back-to-back shutouts. BYU avoided becoming the third victim, though, with a 27-yard field goal in the third quarter.
Dalton found Boyce for a 20-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter and then hooked up with Jeremy Kerley from 21 yards with 4:35 left to cap the scoring.
