Robert Griffin III threw three touchdown passes to lead Baylor to a 30-13 victory over Rice on Saturday.
Griffin completed 20 of 28 passes for 268 yards. He was intercepted once and added 59 yards on 13 carries for the Bears (3-1).
Rice (1-3) took a 3-0 lead in the first quarter on a 42-yard field goal by Chris Boswell but Baylor responded by scoring the final 20 points of the first half.
Griffin threw a six-yard touchdown pass to Jerod Monk in the first quarter and tossed a 40-yard scoring strike to Kendall Wright in the second quarter to make it 14-3. Aaron Jones added a pair of field goals in the second quarter for the Bears and added another late in the fourth.
Griffin tossed his final touchdown pass, a 46-yarder to Josh Gordon, with 7:41 left in the third quarter to put Baylor on top, 27-6.
Baylor outgained Rice 467-296 en route to its fifth straight win in the series and eighth victory in the last eight meetings in Houston between the teams.
Sam McGuffie ran for 65 yards in 14 carries for the Owls. He scored on an 11-yard run with 6:03 left in the game to cut the Bears' lead to 27-13.
