Stanford continues to roll.
The Cardinal dominated host Notre Dame in a 37-14 win Saturday in South Bend, Ind.
Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck completed 19-of-32 passes for 238 yards and a touchdown. The Heisman candidate also threw his first two interceptions of the season.
With the win, Stanford (4-0) sets up a Pac-10 showdown at Oregon next week. The loss was Notre Dame's third straight, aftert the Fighting Irish opened the Brian Kelly era with a win.
The 17th-ranked Cardinal averaged more than 50 points in their first three games, but were slowed by three turnovers and led just 19-6 heading into the fourth quarter.
Stanford put the game away with two fourth-quarter touchdowns from two-way player Owen Marecic. The senior scored on a 1-yard run with 7:58 to play. On the ensuing possession, Marecic picked off Irish quarterback Dayne Crist from his linebacker position and rambled 20 yards to make it 34-6.
Nick Whitaker kicked five field goals for the Cardinal.
The Irish averaged 2.0 yards per carry and finished with 48 rushing yards. Quarterback Dayne Crist completed 26-of-45 passes for 310 yards, with a touchdown pass to Theo Riddick late in the fourth quarter.
Notre Dame (1-3) will try to rebound at Boston College next week.
