Jacquizz Rodgers scored three touchdowns and Oregon State held off Louisville 35-28 in a nonconference game, Saturday in Corvallis, Ore.
Rodgers had rushing touchdowns of 13 and 1 yards and caught a 4-yard touchdown pass from Ryan Katz as the Beavers (1-1) bounced back from a 30-21 loss to Texas Christian on Sept. 4. The Beavers play at No. 3 Boise State on Saturday.
Rodgers finished with 119 yards rushing on 23 carries. He also had five receptions for 24 yards.
Markus Wheaton's 38-yard touchdown run gave the Beavers a 35-14 lead over the Cardinals (1-2) with 9:36 remaining in the third quarter.
The Cardinals rallied behind quarterback Adam Froman, who rushed for a 5-yard touchdown and then threw a 2-yard pass to Cameron Graham as Louisville closed to 35-28. The Cardinals were driving with less than two minutes left but Froman was intercepted by James Dockery.
Froman finished 22-of-38 for 288 yards. Doug Beaumont had nine catches for 121 yards for Louisville.
