Quarterback Terrelle Pryor accounted for 345 yards and two touchdowns as second-ranked Ohio State beat 12th-ranked Miami 36-24 Saturday in Columbus.

Pryor completed 12-of-27 passes for 233 yards and one touchdown, and rushed 20 times for 113 yards and another score as the Buckeyes (2-0) overcame two Miami kick returns for touchdowns. Devin Barclay tied a school record with five field goals.

The Ohio State defense also picked off Miami quarterback Jacory Harris four times. Harris completed 22-of-39 passes for 232 yards and a touchdown.

Miami (1-1) benefited from two first-half kick returns for touchdowns – an 88-yard kickoff return by Lamar Miller and a 79-yard punt return by Travis Benjamin.

Despite those big plays, the Buckeyes led 26-17 at the half, scored 23 points in the second quarter, and outgained Miami 259 yards to 105. Benjamin’s return came with 3:25 left in the half.

Barclay kicked four field goals, Pryor passed 18 yards to Brandon Saine and Daniel Herron ran 4 yards for the Buckeyes' other scores in the half. Miami’s Matt Bosher made a 51-yard field goal in the second quarter.

The Buckeyes scored 10 more points in the third on a 13-yard scoring run by Pryor and a 24-yard field goal from Barclay to take a 36-17 lead. Miami pulled to 36-24 when Harris completed a 9-yard touchdown pass to Chase Ford at the start of the fourth quarter.

Next up for Ohio State is Ohio on Saturday in Columbus. Miami is idle next week and will play at Pittsburgh on Sept. 23.
