Ricky Stanzi's 52-yard touchdown pass to Marvin McNutt late in the fourth quarter lifted No. 16 Iowa to an 18-13 win over Indiana in a Big Ten game on Saturday.

The win moved Iowa (7-2, 3-1) into a tie for the Big Ten lead with Wisconsin, Michigan State and Ohio State.

Trailing 13-12, the Hawkeyes took over at their own 12-yard line with 3:39 to play after forcing a punt. Two completions moved the ball to the 48-yard line before Stanzi hit McNutt, who was wide open down the middle of the field and ran into the end zone with 2:50 to play.

Indiana (4-5, 0-5) drove to Iowa's 19-yard line in the final minute, but its chances to pull off the upset ended on a fourth down play. Damarlo Belcher attempted to make a leaping grab of Ben Chappell's pass, but couldn't secure the ball as he hit the ground.

Chappell's 1-yard touchdown run late in the third quarter gave Indiana the lead.

Michael Meyer's fourth field goal, a 42-yarder, cut the lead to 13-12 with 8:33 left.

Meyer's 27-yard field goal in the third quarter broke a 6-6 halftime, but Indiana responded with a 12-play, 69-yard drive that ended with Chappell's touchdown run.

Meyer kicked two other field goals for Iowa, a 23-yarder and a 27-yarder. Miitch Ewald also hit two field goals in the first half for Indiana, a 37-yarder and a 28-yarder.

Stanzi completed 22-of-33 passes for 290 yards with one touchdown and one interception. Chappell completed 27-of-46 for 222 yards and one interception.

Iowa played without tailback Adam Robinson, who has a concussion. Robinson is the Hawkeyes' leading rusher.
