Tyson Walker scored 19 points to lead Michigan State to a 73-63 win over rival Michigan in a Big Ten contest on Saturday in Ann Arbor, Mich.

Malik Hall added 18 points for the Spartans (17-9, 9-6 Big Ten), who won in Ann Arbor for the first time since 2019. Michigan State has won eight of its past 10 games overall.

Tarris Reed Jr. had 15 points and 11 rebounds to lead five scorers in double figures for Michigan (8-18, 3-12), which has lost eight of its past nine games.

Michigan had a decided edge from 3-point range, going 7-for-20 while Michigan State went just 2-for-14.

Michigan also held a 35-31 rebounding advantage.

The biggest problem for Michigan was turnovers, as the Wolverines coughed the ball up a season-high 22 times.

Michigan State collected 15 steals for the game.

The game was close throughout and was tied at 63-63 in the second half when Michigan State took over defensively.

The Spartans held the Wolverines scoreless over the final 7:00 of the game, ending the contest with a 10-0 run to sweep the two-game regular-season series.

Michigan State held a 39-37 lead at halftime, but Michigan started the second half strong, taking a 48-43 lead with 16:45 remaining after Olivier Nkamhoua capped a fastbreak with a layup.

The Wolverines held a 53-47 edge before Michigan State went on a 9-3 run to tie the game at 56-56 on Tre Holloman's layup with 11:28 to go.

Michigan State built a 31-22 lead with 4:21 left in the first half, but a personal 7-0 run by Dug McDaniel brought Michigan within two at 31-29 with 3:04 remaining until halftime.

McDaniel finished with 13 points and three steals.

Michigan State scored the next four points to take a 35-29 lead, but Michigan answered with an 8-0 spurt to take a 37-35 advantage with 40 seconds left in the first half.
