Jalen Suggs recorded 24 points and five rebounds to help top-ranked Gonzaga cruise to an 82-71 victory over BYU in West Coast Conference play on Monday night at Provo, Utah.

Sophomore Drew Timme added 20 points and a career-best 13 rebounds for the Bulldogs (19-0, 10-0 WCC). Andrew Nembhard had 15 points and four steals and Corey Kispert scored 13 points as Gonzaga stretched the nation's longest active winning streak to 23 games.

Alex Barcello scored 20 points, Brandon Averette added 14 points and six assists and Spencer Johnson had 11 points for BYU (15-5, 6-3). The Cougars, who committed 19 turnovers, shot 48.3 percent from the field and made 8 of 21 from 3-point range.

Gonzaga's last loss occurred in the same building nearly 12 months ago, but there wasn't much suspense this time. The Bulldogs started quickly and never trailed.

The Bulldogs shot 50.8 percent from the field and made 6 of 18 from behind the arc. They stretched their streak of double-digit victories to 16 while beating BYU for the eighth time in the past nine meetings.

Connor Harding's layup pulled the Cougars within 52-44 with 14:04 left before Nembhard scored six points during a 7-0 run that saw Gonzaga take a 15-point lead with 12:11 remaining.

A short time later, Suggs drained a 3-pointer and converted two layups during an 8-0 burst as the Bulldogs took a 70-49 lead with 7:50 left.

BYU made a push to pull within 72-58 on Averette's 3-pointer with 5:25 remaining. Just over three minutes later, Kispert buried a 3-pointer to make it 78-60 before the Cougars scored the next nine points while making the margin of defeat look respectable.

Timme had 12 first-half points on 5-of-6 shooting, and the Bulldogs led 41-31 at the break.

Gonzaga sprinted out to a 15-2 lead over the first three-plus minutes before BYU moved within 19-13 on a 3-pointer by Averette with 11:32 left in the half.

The Bulldogs answered with a 15-6 surge, and Timme's basket gave them a 34-19 with 6:45 remaining before the break.
