Cameron McGriff scored 28 points and Yor Anei recorded a double-double as Oklahoma State rode a stifling defensive performance in the second half to an 83-66 win over Oklahoma on Saturday in Norman.

The Cowboys (14-13, 4-10 Big 12 Conference) held the Sooners (16-11, 6-8) to 36.0 percent shooting from the floor in the second half -- including 2-of-11 from behind the 3-point line. They also held a 21-13 edge on the glass after intermission.

The Cowboys outrebounded the Sooners for the game, 43-30.

The tenacious defensive effort out of the locker room helped fuel a game-sealing 17-2 run. Oklahoma State's outburst, however, pushed the lead to a game-high 21 points.

McGriff shot 11-of-17 from the floor and knocked down 4-of-6 from behind the 3-point line. McGriff's long-range shooting paced the Cowboys to a 9-of-18 performance as a team.

Anei finished with 10 points and 10 rebounds, and Kalib Boone shot 5-of-7 from the floor for 14 points. Isaac Likekele helped key the Cowboys' defensive aggressiveness with three steals, and he added four assists on the offensive end.

Oklahoma jumped to a 10-point lead early after Austin Reaves made a 3-pointer, part of his team-high 22 points. Kristian Doolittle added 13 points and De'Vion Harmon added 10 for the Sooners.

Oklahoma State responded to the initial onslaught, chipping away at the deficit. Oklahoma led by one point at the under-four-minute mark in the first half, but the Cowboys went off for 15 points before intermission.

They led the rest of the way.

The win marked Oklahoma State's third in the last four Big 12 games. They opened conference play 0-8.

Saturday's loss was Oklahoma's third straight, complicating its NCAA Tournament at-large prospects with four regular-season games to go.
