BOXSCORE | RECAP
Wake Forest 82, Davidson 70
When: 7:30 PM ET, Friday, November 22, 2019
Where: Spectrum Center, Charlotte, North Carolina
Officials: # Roger Ayers, # Tony Henderson, # Jeb Hartness
Attendance: 4200

Wake Forest's Brandon Childress posted 18 points and Torry Johnson, normally a reserve who had a total of three points in the team's first four games, pumped in 15 points as the Demon Deacons zipped past Davidson 82-70 on Friday night at Spectrum Center in Charlotte, N.C.

Olivier Sarr's 15 points and 12 rebounds, Andrien White's 11 points and Isaiah Mucius' 11 points and 10 rebounds gave the Demon Deacons (3-2) five players in double-figure scoring.

Johnson was in the starting lineup with Chaundee Brown out with an injury and posted eight points by halftime. Childress finished with seven assists.

Kellan Grady's 20 points and Jon Axel Gudmundsson's 17 points paced Davidson (2-3), which was coming off a 20-point romp past Nevada earlier in the week. Hyunjung Lee and Carter Collins added 13 and 10 points, respectively, off the bench.

Wake Forest led 32-29 at halftime. Davidson overcame a slow start after hitting only one shot across the opening five minutes.

White notched eight points in the first seven minutes of the second half as Wake Forest stretched its lead to 57-40. The Demon Deacons began the half by making their first five shots and 10 of their first 11 from the field.

The lead ballooned to 67-45 by the midway mark of the second half.

The Wildcats were hurt by 7-for-25 shooting on 3-point attempts, while Wake Forest finished with 10 baskets from 3-point range. Five different Demon Deacons hit at least one 3.

Wake Forest was without two regulars, with guards Brown (ankle) and Sharone Wright Jr. (illness) missing the game. Brown averages 15.8 points and 9.8 rebounds per game.

The contest served as a home game for Davidson, which is located several miles from Charlotte. The Wildcats dropped to 1-7 all-time in games at the city's NBA arena.

It was Wake Forest's second visit to Charlotte in a six-night stretch, though with games at different venues. The Demon Deacons lost in overtime Sunday night at UNC Charlotte.
