STILLWATER, Okla. – The Brad Underwood era began with a bang Friday night for Oklahoma State, as the Cowboys rolled past Campbell 102-65 at Gallagher-Iba Arena.

Point guard Jawun Evans led the Cowboys charge with 34 points, while guards Phil Forte and Jeffrey Carroll added 22 each, giving Oklahoma State three 20-point scorers in a game for the first time since 2009.

Chris Clemons led Campbell with 17 points, squaring off with Evans in a battle of touted point guards in the opener for both squads. Both were coming off seasons as conference freshmen of the year, Evans in the Big 12 and Clemons in the Big South.

For Underwood, it was a strong start in his debut as Cowboys coach, after three years of major success leading Stephen F. Austin squads to the NCAA Tournament and even two wins in three trips. Underwood replaced Travis Ford, who was fired after a 12-20 finish.

For Evans, it was his second-highest career scorning performance, after he went for 42 in a loss to Oklahoma last season.

Eventually, foul trouble figured to catch up to the Camels, who held a lead -- 30-26 -- at the 7:52 mark of the first half.

Campbell piled up 20 fouls through the first 20 minutes and had four players, including two starters, strapped with three each. Oklahoma State was in the double bonus by the 13:41 mark, leading to 26 free throws, 19 of them made.

Evans got busy, too, fueling a 26-7 run to halftime. He had 26 at the break, making 7 of 10 from the floor and 10 of 11 from the foul line.

Clemons led the Camels with 13 first-half points, but cooled after a hot start, finishing the period 4 of 12 from the field. He was 5 of 18 overall.
