Sophomore forward Moritz Wagner had 18 points and six rebounds, leading Michigan to a 68-62 victory over Furman on Thursday at Crisler Arena.

Zak Irvin supplied 16 points and Derrick Walton Jr. added 11, including a clutch 3-pointer in the final minute. The Wolverines overcame 20 percent shooting on 3-point attempts (4-for-20).

Junior guard Devin Sibley led Furman with 14 points. Matt Rafferty had 12 points and John Davis added 10 for the Paladins (7-6).

The Wolverines (10-3) have won five of their last six, with all the victories coming at home. Their lone loss during that span was against No. 2 UCLA.

The Paladins caught fire at the start of the second half, scoring the first 11 points to take a 36-31 lead. Sibley had five points during that stretch, and Kris Acox capped it off with a dunk after an inbounds lob from Daniel Fowler.

Michigan regained the lead with 13:49 remaining on a Walton free throw. The Wolverines nudged it to 52-46 on a three-point play by D.J. Wilson with 8:26 left.

Furman hung around and trailed by just three with a minute remaining. A Paladins turnover, followed by the 3-pointer from Walton with 25 seconds remaining, proved decisive.

Wagner shot 6-for-10 from the field during the first half and scored 13 points, lifting the Wolverines to a 31-25 lead.

The halftime advantage was the largest for either club through the first 20 minutes. Wagner scored the only two baskets during the final two minutes of the half.

Michigan is off until New Year's Day, when it begins the Big Ten portion of the schedule at Iowa.
