No. 20 North Carolina 86, William & Mary 64: J.P. Tokoto had season highs with 19 points and 10 rebounds as the host Tar Heels finished their non-conference schedule in winning fashion.

Marcus Paige scored 14 points - 11 in the second half - for North Carolina (10-3), which begins ACC play at Clemson on Saturday. Nate Britt chipped in 11 points off the bench for the Tar Heels, who shot 50.8 percent.

Daniel Dixon scored 15 of his career-high 20 points in the second half to fuel a comeback attempt by the Tribe (6-5). Marcus Thornton had 17 points and Greg Malinowski added nine in a reserve role for William & Mary, which lost its eighth straight in the series.

Tokoto hit a 3-pointer on the first shot of the game as North Carolina raced to an early 8-0 lead and Britt's three-point play made it 43-22 late in the first half. William & Mary scored the final three points of the first half and kept charging after the break, pulling to within 15 points on Dixon's 3-pointer early in the second and as close as 68-59 when Dixon was good again from long range with six minutes to go.

Paige converted a three-point play at the other end and then had a steal and two foul shots to push the lead back to 14. After Thornton's jumper made it 73-62 with just under five minutes remaining, Britt hit consecutive 3-pointers and then two free throws to break it open.

GAME NOTEBOOK: A technical foul was called against North Carolina's bench with 11:14 left. ... The Tar Heels had a 44-28 rebounding advantage. ... High school sophomore Jalek Felton, the nephew of former Tar Heels star Raymond Felton and the top-ranked shooting guard in the Class of 2017, has reportedly committed to North Carolina.
