James Siakam added nine points for the Commodores, who turned the ball over before Chiozza’s free throws, and Matthew Fisher-Davis’ desperation shot at the buzzer fell short.

Vanderbilt answered by scoring 12 of the next 16, capped by a dunk and a three-point play by Siakam that gave the Commodores a 45-44 lead with 1:24 left. Hill and LaChance exchanged baskets before both teams missed free throws to set up Robinson’s heroics.
