Texas A&M 63, Florida 62: Kourtney Roberson scored 20 points on 8-of-10 shooting as the host Aggies edged the struggling Gators in SEC play.

Jalen Jones added 16 points and Danuel House scored 14 for Texas A&M (17-7, 8-4). Alex Caruso contributed eight points, nine assists and seven rebounds as the Aggies thwarted a Florida comeback attempt.

Eli Carter scored a season-best 22 points for Florida (12-13, 5-7), which has lost four straight games and seven of its last nine. Dorian Finney-Smith had 11 points and 10 rebounds, Chris Walker scored 11 points and Kasey Hill matched a career high with 10 assists.

Carter’s stepback baseline jumper pulled Florida within 61-60 with 2:23 remaining and Walker followed with a tip-in with 1:47 left to give the Gators their first lead of the game. Jones connected on two free throws to put the Aggies back on top with 1:12 to play and Florida had the ball with 5.3 seconds left and a chance to win but time expired before Alex Murphy lofted a 3-pointer from the left baseline.

Texas A&M led by 11 points late in the first half but Florida capped a 9-2 half-ending run with a lob to Finney-Smith to draw within 32-28 at the break. A basket by Roberson gave the Aggies a 45-37 lead with 14:19 to play but the Gators rattled off the next seven as Carter’s 3-pointer pulled the Gators within one with 12:23 to play.

GAME NOTEBOOK: House has scored in double digits 15 times this season. … Both teams struggled from 3-point range – the Gators were 6-of-26 and Texas A&M was 2-of-12. … Florida leading scorer Michael Frazier II (ankle) missed his second consecutive game.
