No. 22 Butler 83, DePaul 73: Kellen Dunham scored 24 points and made four 3-point baskets as the host Bulldogs defeated the Blue Demons in Big East play.

Roosevelt Jones added 20 points as Butler (18-6, 8-3 Big East) won its fifth straight contest and seventh in the last eight games. Andrew Chrabascz added 16 points on 6-of-8 shooting for the Bulldogs, who shot 57.4 percent from the field.

Jamee Crockett scored 14 points as DePaul (12-13, 6-6) lost for the fourth time in five games. Myke Henry added 12 points and Rashaun Stimage had 10 points for the Blue Demons, who recovered from a 20-point first-half deficit to trail by only four midway through the second half.

DePaul whittled away at its deficit and a 3-pointer by Crockett pulled the Blue Demons within 57-53 with 9:37 remaining. The Bulldogs answered to open up some operating room and a 3-pointer by Alex Barlow and a layup by Kameron Woods gave Butler a 72-60 lead with 5:18 to play.

The Bulldogs dominated the first 11 minutes and held a 17-point lead after Dunham’s 3-pointer and the advantage grew to 39-19 on a jumper by Kelan Martin with 3:56 left in the first half. Butler settled for a 13-point halftime edge and pushed the margin back to 18 early in the second half.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Woods had eight rebounds as Butler owned a 31-25 edge on the boards. … DePaul G Billy Garrett Jr. had just six points on 1-of-6 shooting. … The Bulldogs were 8-of-14 from 3-point range.
