Jarell Martin led the way with 22 points and eight rebounds as the visiting Tigers snapped the Gators’ 20-game SEC home winning streak.

Tim Quarterman scored 13 of his 15 points in the second half and added eight assists and five boards for LSU (14-4, 3-2 SEC), which snapped a six-game losing streak in the series. Keith Hornsby scored 15 points and Jordan Mickey collected 14 points and 14 rebounds for the Tigers.

Dorian Finney-Smith had 10 points and eight rebounds while Alex Murphy scored 10 points off the bench for Florida (10-8, 3-2). Kasey Hill scored nine points to lead the starting five for the Gators, who have lost two straight conference games following a 24-game SEC winning streak.

Florida took advantage of a pair of turnovers and Michael Frazier II buried a 3-pointer in a 7-0 run that cut the deficit to 66-56 with just under six minutes left. Martin tipped in a miss and Quarterman knocked down a 3-pointer to push the advantage back to 15 and the Gators never seriously threatened down the stretch.

Martin scored 15 points in the first half and Hornsby buried a 3-pointer to send LSU into the break up 37-32. Hill’s jumper with just over 12 minutes left drew Florida within 52-47 before Hornsby connected again from beyond the arc to spark a 14-2 burst to spread the lead to 17 points with eight minutes to play.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
The Gators have dropped back-to-back SEC games for the first time since finishing 2012 with three consecutive losses. … LSU went 17-of-18 from the free-throw line and hit 8-of-13 3-pointers while Florida was 12-of-17 from the line and 3-of-16 from beyond the arc. … Florida F Chris Walker was held to six points and has not scored more than six in any of the last nine games.
