St. Francis (Pa.) 73, Rutgers 68: Ollie Jackson hit the tiebreaking 3-pointer with 16.8 seconds remaining and Earl Brown scored 23 points as the Red Flash defeated the host Scarlet Knights.

Malik Harmon scored 17 points and Ronnie Drinnon collected 16 rebounds as St. Francis (6-4) won for the fourth time in five games. Jackson scored 15 points and made four 3-pointers and Greg Brown added 10 points.

Kadeem Jack had 20 points, 12 rebounds and three blocked shots for Rutgers (6-5). Junior Etou was 4-of-4 from 3-point range while scoring 14 points, Bishop Daniels tallied 12 points and Myles Mack had 10 points and eight assists.

St. Francis held a 61-48 lead after Earl Brown’s jumper with 10:19 remaining before Rutgers scored 15 of the next 16 points to take a 63-62 edge on a layup by Daniels with 4:28 to play. Jackson’s clutch 3-pointer gave the Red Flash a 69-66 lead and the Scarlet Knights moved within one on two free throws by Daniels with 11.3 seconds left before Greg Brown and Jackson each made two free throws to seal it.

Rutgers used an 11-0 run in the first half to open up a 12-point lead and held a 37-21 lead on Mack’s 3-pointer with 5:30 left. The Red Flash rallied to trim their deficit to 39-34 at halftime and opened the second half with a 19-6 surge to take an eight-point lead.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Jack has put together back-to-back 20-point outings and has three overall this season. … Drinnon has 31 rebounds over the last two games while Earl Brown (1,016) became the 39th player in Red Flash history to reach 1,000 career points. … Rutgers was 10-of-18 from 3-point range, while St. Francis was 9-of-24.
