Wesley Iwundu chipped in 11 points and six boards for Kansas State (13-4, 3-1 Big 12), which bounced back from a 26-point loss at rival Kansas over the weekend. Will Spradling had 10 points and five assists and was one of four players with at least two 3-pointers as the Wildcats went 11-of-21 from beyond the arc.

Ryan Spangler collected 21 points and 14 rebounds to lead Oklahoma (13-4, 2-2). Buddy Hield added 12 points but Cameron Clark, who came into the game leading the Big 12 in scoring at 18.3 points, was held to two points on 1-of-9 shooting for the Sooners.

Thomas Gipson tipped in Southwell’s miss for his first field goal to tie it at 63 with just over three minutes left before Foster’s 3-pointer put Kansas State back on top. Gipson missed the front end of a one-and-one opportunity with 1:19 on the clock but Clark missed a go-ahead 3-point attempt at the other end and Oklahoma again could not take advantage of another missed one-and-one before the Wildcats found their stroke and closed it out at the line.

Kansas State shot 59.1 percent in the first half but only held a 39-38 lead at the break due in part to 10 turnovers. The Wildcats pushed ahead by as much as five points early in the second period before the Sooners stormed back, holding Kansas State to one field goal during a span of more than eight minutes to grab a 62-56 lead with 5 1/2 minutes to play.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Gipson entered the game as the Wildcats’ second-leading scorer and was 12-for-17 from the field in the last two games but struggled to four points on 1-of-5 shooting. … Kansas State leads the Big 12 in 3-point defense and limited Oklahoma to 7-of-23 from beyond the arc. … The Wildcats turned the ball over only three times after the break.
