No. 20 Kansas 90, Oklahoma 83: Wayne Selden Jr. scored a career-high 24 points and Perry Ellis added 22 points and 11 rebounds as the visiting Jayhawks won their Big 12 opener.

Selden hit five 3-pointers and Ellis went 10-of-12 from the free-throw line for Kansas (10-4, 1-0 Big 12), which shot 54.7 percent from the field. Naadir Tharpe scored 10 of his 17 points in the final six minutes while freshman Andrew Wiggins hit just 2-of-9 shots, finishing with nine points.

Cameron Clark matched his career high with 32 points on 10-of-18 shooting and Buddy Hield hit three 3-pointers en route to 18 points for the Sooners (12-3, 1-1). Oklahoma has lost two of its past three following a seven-game winning streak.

Selden and Ellis combined to score Kansas’ first 12 points of the second half and the Jayhawks led by 10 points midway through the half, but Clark scored 10 consecutive points as the Sooners pulled within 78-74 with six minutes to play. Tharpe responded with a 3-pointer and a jumper as Kansas pushed its lead to 85-79, and helped ice the game with five free throws in the final three minutes.

The Jayhawks hit eight of their first 10 shots, building a 20-11 lead on Selden’s 3-pointer 6 ½ minutes into the contest. The Sooners rallied to take a 43-39 lead on two Clark free throws with three minutes remaining before halftime, but Ellis scored six points as Kansas closed the first half on a 11-1 run to lead 50-44 at intermission.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Both teams spent plenty of time at the free-throw line: Oklahoma went 29-for-36 from the line while Kansas shot 24-of-30. … Wiggins is shooting 19-for-58 in his past five games. … Clark also scored 32 points against Michigan State on Nov. 23.
