Louisiana Tech 102, Oklahoma 98 (OT): Alex Hamilton scored 28 of his career-high 31 points after intermission as the visiting Bulldogs ended the Sooners’ seven-game winning streak.

Raheem Appleby tallied 22 points and Cordarius Johnson added 17 to complement Hamilton’s effort for Louisiana Tech (11-3), which overcame 18 turnovers to defeat Oklahoma for the first time in nine meetings. Ryan Spangler posted his fifth double-double with 20 points and 13 rebounds while Cameron Clark finished with 26 points and eight boards as the Sooners (11-2) saw their longest winning since 2008 halted.

After Clark sent the game into overtime with a buzzer-beating 3-pointer, the Sooners used a 10-2 surge to overcome an early four-point deficit in the extra period. Louisiana Tech returned the favor, getting four points from Hamilton to spark a 9-1 run over the next 1:29 that turned the game back in the Bulldogs’ favor and allowed Appleby to seal the victory with a pair of free throws.

Oklahoma held Louisiana Tech to one field goal over the first 5:37 to build a 15-2 lead before the Bulldogs caught fire with four 3-pointers over the final 4:14 of the first half during a 14-2 spurt to knot it at 39. The Sooners enjoyed runs of 5-0, 8-0 and 6-0 early in the second half, but Louisiana Tech overcame each one as it turned a seven-point deficit into a 71-66 advantage on Johnson’s fifth 3-pointer with 6:24 left.

The Bulldogs increased the margin to seven with 2:10 remaining on a 3-pointer from Appleby, but Buddy Hield answered with a long-range jumper and two free throws each from Spangler and Clark kept Oklahoma within two points with 17 seconds remaining. Clark missed the first of two free throws six seconds later, but grabbed an offensive rebound following a pair of free throws by Kenneth Smith and sent the game into overtime with a fadeaway jumper from the left baseline.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Johnson tied a career high with five 3-pointers as the Bulldogs knocked down a season-high 10. … Spangler posted his seventh double-digit rebounding performance, matching the number Oklahoma managed as a team last season. … Louisiana Tech F Michale Kyser – the third-leading shot blocker in the country – finished with four and has at least three rejections in 13 of the Bulldogs’ 14 games this season.
