The foursome of Keita Bates-Diop, Kaleb Wesson, Jae'Sean Tate and Kam Williams -- who combined to shoot 54.3 percent from the field -- led Ohio State to a 80-67 win over Appalachian State on Saturday at Columbus, Ohio.

Tate scored 19 points on 9-of-12 shooting. Bates-Diop added 18 points and eight rebounds. Wesson had 16 points and eight rebounds before fouling out, and Williams finished with 11 points.

They combined to make 25 of 46 shots from the floor.

Ohio State (9-3) shot 52.6 percent as a team despite finishing at 21.4 percent from 3-point range. The Buckeyes shot 62.8 percent from within the arc and outscored Appalachian State 50-40 in the paint.

The Mountaineers (5-7) were led by Ronshad Shabazz's 15 points. Griffin Kinney added 14 and seven rebounds.

Ohio State never trailed and led by as many as 21 points in the second half. A key stretch for the Buckeyes was the final two minutes of the first half when they scored the last six points to take a 40-27 halftime lead.

Ohio State carried that momentum into the second half, building a 48-31 lead with 18:03 left in regulation. Appalachian State never got closer than nine points afterward. The Buckeyes led by as many as 21 points.

The game was delayed for almost 20 minutes with 17:47 left in the second half because of the activation of a fire alarm at a concession stand in Value City Arena. Fans were evacuated and allowed back into the arena after a short amount of time.

Arena officials said a problem was identified with an exhaust fan at a concession stand and the alarm was pulled, but the issue was quickly resolved.
