Junior center Jessie Govan contributed 22 points and 15 rebounds to lead Georgetown to an 83-74 nonconference victory over North Carolina A&T on Saturday at Washington.

Govan fell one shy of his career high for rebounds while recording his sixth double-double of the season. Freshman guard Jamorko Pickett added 12 points and junior swingman Kaleb Johnson had 10 for the Hoyas (8-0).

Junior guard Milik Gantz scored 21 points on 9-of-13 shooting for North Carolina A&T (5-4). Junior forward Femi Olujobi contributed 18 points and eight rebounds for the Aggies.

Georgetown scored the game's first 14 points while remaining unbeaten under first-year coach and school legend Patrick Ewing.

North Carolina A&T missed its first 15 field-goal attempts. The Aggies scored their first two points on free throws by Gantz and senior forward Davaris McCowens ended the field-goal drought by hitting a jumper with 10:52 remaining in the half.

The Hoyas held a 15-point advantage before North Carolina A&T displayed some life with seven straight points to pull within 23-15 on a jumper by Olujobi. Georgetown restored order with its own 7-0 run and led 37-26 at the break.

The Aggies trailed 47-39 after Gantz's layup with 13:08 left but the Hoyas answered with six straight to push the lead up to 14.

Pickett's 3-pointer gave Georgetown a 76-58 lead with 4:26 left before North Carolina A&T made a late push to make the final score respectable.

The Aggies shot 52.8 percent in the second half and finished at 42.0 percent after the porous start.
