Junior guard Ahmed Hill scored 14 points as Virginia Tech cruised to a 76-59 nonconference victory over North Carolina A&T on Thursday.

Freshman forward P.J. Horne added 10 points for the Hokies (11-2), who improved to 9-0 at home. Hill made 4-of-7 3-point attempts while the rest of his teammates were just 2 of 16 from long range.

Junior center Femi Olujobi scored 21 points to pace the Aggies (7-8). Senior forward Davaris McGowens added 12 points on 6-of-7 shooting as North Carolina A&T dropped to 0-40 all-time against ACC programs.

Virginia Tech limited the Aggies to 37.1 percent shooting from the field.

North Carolina A&T led 5 1/2 minutes into the contest before the Hokies rolled off 10 straight points to begin pulling away. Freshman guard Tyrie Jackson capped the surge with a layup to give Virginia Tech a 19-10 advantage with 11:24 left in the half.

Later in the half, Hill drained a 3-pointer to cap a 7-0 run as the Hokies opened up a 34-17 lead with 3:13 left. The lead was 38-20 at the break.

Virginia Tech rattled off eight straight points early in the second half to increase its lead to 49-26 with 15:24 left. The margin was again 23 when Hill knocked down a 3-pointer with 12:47 to go.

The Aggies used an 8-2 burst and pulled within 57-40 on two free throws by Olujobi with 8:38 to play. The Hokies again pushed the lead back above 20 on two free throws by Horne with 3:53 left as they improved to 31-0 all-time against Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference schools.
