Virginia Tech outscored Maryland-Eastern Shore 38-7 over the final 12-plus minutes of the first half and rolled to a 93-40 win on Sunday at Cassell Coliseum in Blacksburg, Va.

The Hokies were 15-for-27 from 3-point range and led 80-30 with 7:17 to go.

Virginia Tech outscored the Hawks 60-13 over a 19-minute stretch.

Chris Clarke led the Hokies with 18 points off the bench, Ahmed Hill added 15 points and Nickeil Alexander-Walker scored 16 points and pulled down eight rebounds.

The three made a combined 19 of 27 field goals as Virginia Tech shot 54.7 percent for the game.

The Hokies (9-1), who won for the seventh straight time, had a 42-25 advantage on the boards and committed just six turnovers in the game.

Cameron Bacote led the Hawks (3-8) with 12 points.

Maryland-Eastern Shore was just 4-for-26 from long range.

The Hokies made four straight 3-pointers during a 17-0 run that broke it open.

Wabissa Bede made the last two to put Virginia Tech up 33-15 with just over seven minutes left in the half.

The Hokies were 11-for-17 from long range in the opening 20 minutes and led 54-22 at the break.

Virginia Tech outrebounded the Hawks 23-9 in the first half.

Maryland-Eastern Shore hung in for about eight minutes.

Virginia Tech took a 13-7 lead six minutes in after an 11-3 run, but the Hawks, who made 6 of 9 field goals to start the game, responded with five straight points.

Maryland-Eastern Shore will be at Creighton on Friday.

The Hokies play at No. 8 Kentucky on Saturday.
