Four Maryland players scored in double figures as the Terrapins rolled to a third straight victory with an 82-60 win over Gardner-Webb on Saturday afternoon in College Park, Md.

Maryland was led by freshman Darryl Morsell's career-best 18 points. Kevin Huerter had 15, Michal Cekovsky 12, and Anthony Cowan 10. Maryland (9-3) shot 54.5 percent (30 of 55) from the field, including 57.1 percent (16 of 28) in the second half.

Gardner-Webb, which lost for the fifth time in the last six games, got 21 points from DJ Laster and 18 from David Efianayi, who hit 7 of 11 shots. The Runnin' Bulldogs (3-8) trailed by as many as 26 points late in the second half.

Maryland scored the final eight points of the first half to lead 38-24 at the break.

The Runnin' Bulldogs had stayed close for most of the first half before going scoreless over the final 4:04. It was 30-24 when Jaheam Cornwall hit two free throws, but Morsell, who had 11 first-half points, hit two free throws at 3:52 to start the run, which also included 3-pointers from Joshua Tomaic and Cowan.

Morsell and Tomaic were part of a big 17-2 first-half advantage in bench scoring for the Terrapins, who were without freshman forward Bruno Fernando, out with an ankle sprain suffered Thursday in the win over Ohio.

Tomaic had a career-high nine points as Maryland's bench outscored Gardner-Webb 33-8.

The Terrapins' homestand continues Tuesday against Catholic. Gardner-Webb, which fell to 0-6 on the road, next plays at Hampton on Dec. 17. Four of those Gardner-Webb losses have been at Power Five Conference schools.
