Martinas Geben recorded a double-double to lead No. 5 Notre Dame to a 71-53 win over St. Francis (N.Y.) on Sunday at Purcell Pavilion in South Bend, Ind.

Geben scored 14 points and recorded 10 rebounds, while Bonzie Colson just missed a double-double, finishing with 13 points and nine boards for Notre Dame (7-1).

Jalen Jordan, D.J. Porter and Rasheem Dunn each scored 10 points to lead the Terriers (2-6).

The Irish, who were coming off an 81-63 loss to No. 3 Michigan State on Thursday when the Spartans shot over 51 percent from the field, bounced back against St. Francis. They allowed the Terriers to make only 31.7 percent (19 of 60) of their field-goal attempts.

The Terriers were hanging around and trailed by only six at 28-22 with just a little over five minutes left in the first half when Notre Dame's offense kicked into high gear.

A pair of free throws by both Matt Farrell and Colson were followed by a Rex Pflueger layup and a Colson tip-in, and all of a sudden the Irish were up 36-22.

The Fighting Irish took a 43-25 lead into halftime with the only points the Terriers scored in the final 8:13 of the half coming via two 3-pointers by Jordan.

Notre Dame extended the lead early in the second half to 47-25 on two free throws by Geben. St. Francis used an 11-1 spurt to cut the deficit to 12 on a layup by Dunn.

But the Irish stormed back behind Farrell and TJ Gibbs to push the lead back to 20. Gibbs kicked off the run with a 3, Farrell made a layup and a free throw, Gibbs followed with two free throws and Notre Dame led 56-36.
