Indiana State made a whopping 17 of 26 3-point attempts Friday night and spoiled the Indiana coaching debut of Archie Miller with a stunning 90-69 nonconference rout in each team's season opener at Simon Skodjt Assembly Hall in Bloomington, Ind.

Senior guard Brenton Scott led the Sycamores' onslaught, bombing in 6-of-9 3-pointers and leading all scorers with 24. Jordan Barnes canned 5-of-7 3-point tries and finished with 18 points, while Qiydar Davis contributed 13 points, going 5-of-6 from the field.

Brandon Murphy hit for 12 and Devin Thomas scored 10 points, making all three of his shots, as Indiana State scored its most points in its 23-game series with the Hoosiers. The Sycamores finished at 59.2 percent from the field and were at 65 percent before missing their last five attempts.

De'Ron Davis paced Indiana with 14 points, sinking 6 of 7 shots from the floor. Juwan Morgan added 13 and Curtis Jones hit for 11 points as the Hoosiers made a respectable 46.7 percent of their field-goal tries but also turned it over 19 times and simply couldn't get stops.

Indiana, picked 12th in the Big Ten this season, led just once for 15 seconds early in the game. Indiana State, tabbed for a seventh place finish in the Missouri Valley Conference, established its first double-digit lead less than seven minutes into the game on a 3-pointer by Barnes that made the score 22-11.

The advantage reached 20 for the first time when Thomas sank a 3 with 4:31 left in the half and climbed to 54-33 at halftime.

The Sycamores led by as many as 30 points on three different occasions in a suspense-less second half.
