Virginia Tech forward Zach LeDay and guards Ahmed Hill and Justin Robinson combined for 30 points in the second half Sunday to lead the Hokies to a 66-53 victory in the third-place game of the Wooden Legacy in Anaheim, Calif.

LeDay scored 10 of his team-high 19 points, and Hill and Robinson added all 12 and eight of their points after intermission, respectively. Nebraska guard Tai Webster scored 17 of his team-high 23 points in the second half.

Virginia Tech, which averaged only 9.2 turnovers entering the game, committed 17. The Hokies' defense made up for that, holding the Cornhuskers to 22.6 percent (7 of 31) shooting in the second half. Nebraska also had 14 turnovers in the game.

The trio of LeDay, Hill and Robinson outscored Nebraska's entire team 30-27 in the second half.

The game had four ties and seven lead changes before Virginia Tech (5-1) started to gain separation with 12:27 left in the second half. It was tied at 33 at that point following a layup by Webster, who also led Nebraska with eight rebounds.

Virginia Tech went on an 8-1 run. A layup by guard Seth Allen culminated the run, giving the Hokies a 41-34 lead with 9:11 remaining. Allen and Hill each had four points in that stretch.

The Hokies' lead stretched to 12 points, 52-40, on a three-pointer by Robinson with 5:59 left.

Nebraska (4-2) couldn't get closer after cutting the deficit to 56-50 with 1:34 remaining on two free throws by Webster following a technical foul on LeDay. The Cornhuskers made only two of their last 12 field goal attempts.
