Boston College ended a 20-game conference losing streak with a stunning 96-81 home ACC upset of Syracuse Sunday.

Ky Bowman, the reigning ACC freshman of the year, scored 30 points and added nine assists and five rebounds and Jerome Robinson scored 22 points as Boston College (8-6) recorded its first ACC victory since the 2014-15 regular season finale.

Bowman, who averaged 24.5 points per game, went 7-for-8 from the floor -- and Boston College scored its first home victory over their former Big East rival since 2005.

The win also ended Syracuse's four-game series winning streak, and came with BC's Conte Forum loaded with Orange fans.

Boston College was 7-6 after 13 nonconference games before going 0-18 in the ACC last season, with two of those losses against Syracuse. This victory allows the Eagles to surpass last year's win total.

The Eagles, who went 664 days between ACC wins, took control early and then hit nine straight 3-pointers in the second half.

A.J. Turner added 16 points, Nik Popovic posted 11 points -- 10 in the first half -- and six rebounds. Connar Tava also scored nine points and had 10 rebounds for the Eagles, who went 16-for-26 from 3-point range in the victory.

Bowman has taken over as the starting point guard, with former starter Ty Graves leaving the program over the holidays.

Syracuse (8-6) got 22 points from Andrew White III, while Tyler Lydon had 17 points and 12 rebounds, Taurean Thompson 14 points and Tyler Roberson 11.

The Orange came into the game having suffered more nonconference losses -- including a 33-point home loss to St. John's -- than in any year under Jim Boeheim.

Syracuse fell to 0-4 on the road, while the Eagles won for the fourth time in five games.

These teams meet again at the Carrier Dome Jan. 14.
