Dorian Pickens scored 25 points while making a career-high seven 3-pointers in Stanford's 86-80 victory over Idaho on Thursday night in Stanford, Calif.

Pickens' 7-of-10 performance from beyond the arc was part of a game that featured a combined 24 3-pointers by the teams.

Stanford (8-4) was 11 of 21 from that range. Idaho (5-6) made 13 of its 27 3-point attempts, led by a 5-for-11 performance by Victor Sanders, who finished with 17 points.

Stanford made five of its last seven free throw attempts to seal the win while Idaho went 1 of 6 from the field in the last 2:30.

Stanford's Reid Travis had 20 points, going 6 of 8 from the field, and 12 rebounds.

Idaho, which led by as many as 11 points in the first half, took a 45-39 lead into halftime as both teams shot better than 50 percent from the field. The Vandals shot 60 percent in the first half with Sanders scoring 13 on 4-of-5 shooting from beyond the arc.

The Cardinal went on a 12-1 run, tying the game at 51 on a Pickens 3-pointer with 12:30 left. Idaho missed four shots and committed two turnovers in that key stretch.

Stanford made a 3-pointer on three of four possession to take a 64-62 lead with 7:42 left. Pickens made his seventh 3-pointer of the game in that sequence.

The shot by Pickens started a 12-2 run that enabled the Cardinal to build a 73-64 lead with 4:52 remaining. Stanford guard Robert Cartwright had five points in that run that included Idaho going 1 of 4 from the field with two turnovers.

After Cartwright made a 3-pointer to put Stanford ahead 76-67, Idaho stormed back with eight straight points, the last six on consecutive 3-pointers by guards Tyler Brimhall and Sanders, to cut the lead to 76-75 with 2:35 remaining.
