SALT LAKE CITY -- Kyle Kuzma recorded 18 points, 15 rebounds and six assists to lead Utah to a 92-60 victory over Prairie View A&M on Saturday.

Sederick Barefield added 18 points and David Collette chipped in 11 points and nine rebounds for the Utes. Barefield and Collette made their season debuts for Utah (7-2) after joining the team a season ago as mid-year transfers from SMU and Utah State, respectively.

The Utes improved to 3-0 all-time versus Southwestern Athletic Conference opponents.

Zachary Hamilton scored 26 points to lead Prairie View A&M. The Panthers (2-10) were outmatched around the basket on both ends of the court. Utah finished with a 52-25 advantage in rebounds. The Utes outscored Prairie View A&M 50-22 in the paint and had a 16-2 edge in second-chance points.

Utah broke open the game early behind a combination of unselfish offense and stifling defense. The Utes shot 20 for 28 from the field in the first half alone and had 16 assists.

Keeping up with Utah proved impossible for Prairie View A&M. The Panthers endured a pair of long droughts without a field goal and quickly fell behind. Prairie View A&M scored only two baskets over a 7:42 stretch that allowed the Utes to quickly carve out an insurmountable lead.

After Hamilton cut Utah's lead to 9-7 on a pair of jumpers, the Utes answered with a pair of 12-0 runs to quickly run away from the Panthers.

Barefield buried his first 3-pointer to open the first run while JoJo Zamora and Kuzma drove for back-to-back layups to cap the run and give Utah a 25-9 lead. Jayce Johnson buried a pair of jumpers to spark the second spurt and Barefield capped it with another 3-pointer, putting the Utes up 40-14 with 5:34 left before halftime.

Utah led by as many as 37 points in the second half. The Utes took their largest lead when Johnson converted a three-point play to make it 71-34 with 11:40 remaining.
