Jaron Blossomgame had a season-high 29 points and nine rebounds to lead Clemson to a 93-65 victory over visiting South Carolina State on Tuesday night at Littlejohn Coliseum in Clemson, South Carolina.

Shelton Mitchell scored 14 points for Clemson (7-2). Donte Grantham added 13 points and seven rebounds. Avry Holmes had 10 points and Sidy Djitte posted eight points and 13 rebounds.

Eric Eaves led South Carolina State (2-8) with 20 points. Tashombe Riley scored 14 points and Greg Mortimer added 13.

Clemson started the game with a 7-0 run and never trailed. The Tigers went up 10-2 on a put-back by Grantham, took a 21-10 lead on a dunk by Blossomgame and stretched the lead to 13 on a 3-pointer by Grantham. South Carolina State battled back to cut the deficit to nine on a jumper by Riley, but Clemson quickly reestablished a double-digit lead on a dunk by Blossomgame.

The Bulldogs made a bit of a run to get within nine at the break, but they couldn't carry that momentum into the second half. The Tigers went up 45-33 on a 3-pointer by Holmes and extended the lead to 14 on a layup by Mitchell. A 3-pointer by Blossomgame put the Tigers up 58-43 and a 3-pointer by Gabe DeVoe pushed the lead to 18.

South Carolina State got within 12 with less than 12 minutes remaining, but Clemson responded with a 9-1 run to go up 72-52. The Tigers led by as many as 30 in the final minutes.

The Tigers shot 45 percent from the field and made 8 of 31 from 3-point range. The Bulldogs shot 51.9 percent and made 6 of 14 from beyond the arc, but they committed 18 turnovers. Clemson had only two turnovers.
