Charlie Moore had 22 points, four assists and four steals to lead California to an 86-61 victory over visiting UC Davis on Saturday night at Haas Pavilion in Berkeley, Calif.

Moore made 7 of 9 field-goal attempts and 4 of 5 from 3-point range for the Golden Bears (8-2). Grant Mullins scored 17 points on 6-of-7 shooting from the field and 4-of-5 shooting from beyond the arc.

Chima Moneke had 24 points and 10 rebounds for UC Davis (5-5). Brynton Lemar added 14 points.

Moneke made a jumper to give UC Davis an early lead, but it didn't last long. A basket by Jabari Bird sparked a 10-2 run that put Cal up 13-6 following a 3-pointer by Mullins. The Bears followed that with a 14-2 run to take a 27-9 lead on a layup by Roger Moute a Bidias.

The Aggies battled back to get within 13, but the Bears quickly extended the lead and carried a 39-18 advantage into the break. The Bears shot nearly 47 percent in the opening half and forced 16 turnovers while holding the Aggies to 33 percent shooting.

Cal continued to maintain a comfortable lead throughout the second half. The Bears went up by 22 on a three-point play by Kingsley Okoroh. Lemar and Mikey Henn made 3-pointers to fuel a 7-0 run that brought the Aggies within 14, but the Bears pushed the lead back to 22 on a 3-pointer by Mullins.

UC Davis made one last charge to get within 15 on a three-point play by Moneke, but the Aggies couldn't sustain the momentum. The Bears needed less than two minutes to reestablish a 20-point lead.

The Bears shot 56.6 percent from the field and made 10 of 19 from 3-point range. The Aggies shot 44.2 percent and made 6 of 10 from long distance.
