Freshman guard Josh Langford scored 15 points to lead four Spartans in double figures as Michigan State won its second consecutive game, a 77-57 win over Youngstown State on Tuesday in East Lansing, Mich.

Langford came off of the bench and went 6 of 8 from the field overall and 3 of 4 from 3-point range to help Michigan State improve to 6-4 on the season.

Senior guard Eron Harris had 13 points and seven rebounds, freshman forward Nick Ward contributed 13 points and eight rebounds, and sophomore Matt McQuaid added 11 points for Michigan State, which shot 50.7 percent from the field (34 of 67) and outrebounded Youngstown State 47-32.

Senior Matt Donlan scored 21 points, and junior guard Francisco Santiago finished with 13 points and 10 rebounds for the Penguins (5-5).

Youngstown State stayed with Michigan State for more than a half, trailing 37-33 with 19:42 remaining in the game.

The Spartans took charge from that point.

Michigan State went on a 9-3 run to take a 46-36 lead with 17:41 remaining, and then used a 14-5 run in the middle of the second half to take a 60-44 advantage with 9:56 left on a 3-pointer by McQuaid.

The Spartans built the margin to as many as 20 points in the second half before both teams emptied their benches and played reserves.

Michigan State played its second of five straight home games following a narrow 80-76 win over Oral Roberts on Saturday.

Next up for the Spartans is a home game on Saturday against Tennessee Tech.

Youngstown State, which saw a two-game winning streak snapped following wins over Robert Morris and Oberlin, will play at American on Saturday.
