Tres Tinkle posted 26 points and 12 rebounds to help Oregon State overcome an eight-point halftime deficit to defeat visiting Texas-San Antonio 72-64 on Sunday in Corvallis, Ore.

Drew Eubanks and Jaquori McLaughlin added 13 points apiece for Oregon State (2-0).

Jeff Beverly scored 12 points to lead Texas-San Antonio (0-2). Lucas O'Brien had 10 points and six rebounds.

The Beavers mounted a 9-0 run early in the second half to take a 40-39 lead on a 3-pointer by Tinkle. The Roadrunners briefly regained the lead, but a 13-3 run by Oregon State put the Beavers up 61-50.

Texas-San Antonio stormed back to cut Oregon State's lead to 61-59 on a layup by Giovanni De Nicolao, but a big 3-pointer and a layup by McLaughlin helped the Beavers hold on for the win.

Oregon State shot 42.3 percent from the field, made 5 of 12 from 3-point range and went to the free-throw line 37 times, making 23 of them. After a sloppy first half, the Beavers committed just five turnovers in the second half. Texas-San Antonio shot 33.3 percent and made 6 of 19 from long distance.

Oregon State took a 9-3 lead on a layup by Eubanks, but Texas-San Antonio battled back to take a 12-11 lead on a 3-pointer by Beverly. The Roadrunners went up 18-13 on a layup by J.R. Harris. The Beavers tied the game on two free throws by Tinkle, but the Roadrunners staged three 5-0 runs to take a 37-29 lead into the break.

Texas-San Antonio shot 44.4 percent from the field in the first half and made 5 of 9 from 3-point range. Oregon State shot 33.3 percent, made just 1 of 6 from beyond the arc and committed 11 turnovers.
