Michigan went on a 10-0 run to close out the first half and maintained a double-digit lead throughout the second half in a 77-65 win over IUPUI on Sunday at Crisler Center in Ann Arbor, Mich.

Zak Irvin led the balanced Wolverines (2-0) with 15 points. Moritz Wagner and Derrick Walton Jr. each pumped in 13 points and Muhammad-Ali Abdur Rahkman added 12 points.

Darell Combs paced the Jaguars with 22 points. Matt O'Leary chipped in with 13 points and Kent State transfer Kellon Thomas had 10 points for UIPUI.

In a see-saw first half with neither team able to assert their dominance, the Jaguars had the upper hand. After falling behind by as many as seven points, the Wolverines got their offense in gear after Combs gave the Jaguars (0-2) a 32-30 lead with a little more than four minutes left.

A 3-pointer by Abdur Rahkman gave Michigan the lead to stay at 33-32. Iba Watson's jumper and four straight points by Mark Donnal gave the Wolverines a bit room to breathe.

Irvin closed the run with a layup and Michigan went into halftime with a 43-32 lead.

The Wolverines maintained a double-digit lead throughout the second half. With just under eight minutes left, Michigan held a 64-51 advantage with Irvin and Walton each scoring 13 points.

Wagner's 3-point jumper put Michigan up 71-56 at the five-minute mark, ending any hope of a Jaguars comeback.

Both teams played Friday night with Michigan defeating Howard and IUPUI losing to Eastern Kentucky in a game that included 65 fouls and 83 free-throw attempts.

On Sunday, the Wolverines and Jaguars played a much cleaner game with only 32 fouls called. The Wolverines went 16 of 18 (88.9 percent) from the free-throw line and IUPUI made 14 of 19 (73.7 percent).

The Wolverines controlled the boards, outrebounding the Jaguars 40-31. D.J. Wilson led the way with 14 rebounds for Michigan.
