Freshman forward Braxton Key scored 11 points, including a 3-pointer during a big Alabama run in the second half, and the Crimson Tide pulled away from visiting Arkansas State for a 67-52 win Wednesday at Von Braun Center in Huntsville, Ala.

Senior forward Jimmie Taylor added 12 points off the bench, and freshman guard Dazon Ingram finished with 10 points for the Crimson Tide (6-5).

Arkansas State stayed close into the second half and was down 45-40 with 10 minutes to play, before Alabama took command. The Crimson Tide used an 18-4 run, highlighted by a 3-pointer by Key, to take a 63-44 lead with 3:09 left in the game.

Junior guard Deven Simms scored 15 points off the bench, and senior guard Devin Carter finished with 14 points for the Red Wolves (9-3).

The Red Wolves grabbed an early lead in the first half. Carter had a steal and layup that put Arkansas State up 16-11 midway through the first half.

Alabama battled back and took the lead on a 3-pointer from Shannon Hale with six minutes left before halftime. The Crimson Tide took a 31-26 lead into intermission.

The Red Wolves hurt themselves at the foul line, connecting on just 8 of 19 free throws. They shot just 33.9 percent from the floor.

Junior guard Riley Norris added eight points and nine rebounds for the Crimson Tide, who were coming off a double-digit loss to Clemson and had lost three of four overall.

Arkansas State travels to Minnesota on Friday, before opening Sun Belt Conference play against Louisiana-Lafayette on Dec. 31.

Alabama takes on Stetson on Dec. 29, before beginning SEC play at Mississippi State on Jan. 3.
