J.C. Hampton scored a season-high 21 points to lead Texas A&M to an 80-58 victory over Denver on Wednesday night at Reed Arena in College Station, Texas.

Tonny Trocha-Morelos added 15 points and five rebounds for Texas A&M (6-2), which won for the fourth time in five games. Tyler Davis contributed seven points and eight rebounds.

Joe Rosga scored 24 points for Denver (3-5), which was coming off a win over Weber State. Rosga made 7 of 11 field-goal attempts and 4 of 7 from 3-point range. He was the only Pioneer to finish in double figures.

Texas A&M outscored Denver 5-1 to start the game and trailed only once after Rosga made a 3-pointer to give Denver a 10-9 lead. D.J. Hogg answered with a 3-pointer at the other end, sparking a 10-0 run that put the Aggies up 19-10.

The Aggies extended their lead to 11 on a basket by Trocha-Morelos. They went up by as many as 14 on another basket by Trocha-Morelos and carried a 34-23 advantage into the break.

The Pioneers briefly cut the deficit to single digits when Daniel Amigo made a jumper early in the second half, but the Aggies used a 6-1 burst to take a 40-26 lead on a basket by Davis. The Aggies then mounted a 9-0 run to go ahead 51-31 on a dunk by Robert Williams.

Denver got within 14 on a three-point play by Duke Douglas with just under 12 minutes remaining, but Texas A&M staged a 10-0 run to go up 65-41 on a 3-pointer by Hampton. The Aggies led by as many as 26 in the final minutes.

Texas A&M shot 50 percent from the field, made 7 of 26 from 3-point range and had 20 assists on 28 made baskets. Denver shot 35.2 percent and made 10 of 26 from beyond the arc.
