Dusty Hannahs had the hot hand to help Arkansas beat Southern Illinois 90-65 Monday night in the Golden Gopher Showcase at Bud Walton Arena in Fayetteville, Ark.

Hannahs scored 19 points for Arkansas (2-0). He made 5 of 7 field-goal attempts, including 5 of 6 from 3-point range. Hannahs scored 23 points in the season opener against Fort Wayne, surpassing the 1,000-point mark for his career, which included a stint at Texas Tech.

Moses Kingsley had 15 points, seven rebounds and five blocked shots for Arkansas. Daryl Macon had 12 points and five assists. C.J. Jones came off the bench to score 11 points.

Three players scored in double figures for Southern Illinois (0-2). Armon Fletcher scored 13 points on 5-of-7 shooting and made three 3-pointers. Leo Vincent and Sean Lloyd scored 10 points apiece. Thik Bol had nine points and 12 rebounds.

The Salukis took an early lead on a 3-pointer by Fletcher in the opening minutes, but the Razorbacks quickly seized control. Hannahs made a 3-pointer to spark a 28-8 run that put Arkansas up 30-13 midway through the opening period.

The Razorbacks later went up by 18 on a jumper by Manuale Watkins, increased their advantage to 20 on a 3-pointer by Macon and took a 26-point lead on a 3-pointer by Jaylen Barford. They led 56-25 at the break after shooting 58.3 percent from the field and making 9 of 12 from 3-point range while holding the Salukis to 24.2 percent shooting.

The Razorbacks continued to maintain a large lead throughout the second half. Kingsley dunked to put them up by 33 points early in the second half. They went up by 36 on a 3-pointer by Macon. Fletcher, Lloyd and Vincent hit shots now and then to keep the lead from growing any bigger.

Arkansas wound up shooting 49.2 percent from the floor, while Southern Illinois made 36.7 percent of its field-goal attempts.
