When: 7:00 PM ET, Wednesday, November 25, 2015
Where: Imperial Arena at Atlantis Resort, Nassau
Officials: # Don Daily, # Bert Smith, # Mike Stuart

In the first meeting on the hardwood between these two in-state rivals since 2012, No. 25 Texas A&M (5-0 in 2015-16) defeated Texas, 84-73 in the first round of the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament in the Bahamas.

Three Texas A&M starters--Danuel House (19 points), Anthony Collins (15 points) and Tyler Davis (14 points) -- led the scoring for the victorious Aggies, while Admon Gilder added 12 points off the pine for the winners. Freshman guard Eric Davis. Jr. had a career-high 19 points off the bench for Texas, while center Cameon Ridley chipped in 14 points and five boards for the Horns (1-2 mark in 2015-16).

With the win, the Aggies will advance to play No. 10 Gonzaga in the Battle 4 Atlantis semifinals on Thanksgiving, while Texas will play Washington. Gonzaga defeated Washington, 80-64 in its Battle 4 Atlantis opening round game.

House, one of the SEC's top players, led nine different first half scorers with 15 points for the Aggies, a 49-41 leader over the Longhorns at the intermission.

Shaka Smart's Texas squad made several runs at the Aggies -- even pulling to within 64-62 midway through the second half. But Texas A&M was in the bonus for the final 16:33 of the second half and had answers every time Texas pulled close.

Texas A&M senior transfer Jalen Jones also scored nine points and pulled down six boards in his season debut against Texas after completing a four-game suspension. The NCAA handed down the penalty for his participation in two scrimmages for Southern Methodist prior to his transfer to Texas A&M in January 2014. He averaged 14 points and 7.7 rebounds during the 2012-13 season for SMU.
