UCLA 92, UAB 75: Tony Parker scored 19 of his career-high 28 points in the first half and grabbed 12 rebounds as the Bruins advanced to the Sweet 16 for the second straight season with a third-round win in Louisville, Ky.

Bryce Alford had 22 points and Normal Powell finished with 15 for 11th-seeded UCLA (22-13), which will face either Gonzaga or Iowa on Friday in Houston. Isaac Hamilton had 13 points and seven assists while Kevin Looney chipped in 10 points and 11 boards as the Bruins gained a 41-26 advantage on the glass and shot 60.3 percent from the floor

Robert Brown paced the Blazers (20-16) with 25 points while William Lee added 10 as No. 14 seed UAB fell short of its first Sweet 16 berth since 2004. Chris Cokley chipped in eight points and nine rebounds for the Blazers, who hit 12-of-26 3-pointers but made just 5-of-10 free throws in losing to UCLA for the second time this season.

The Blazers held a 21-15 lead midway through the first half before Powell hit a 3-pointer and Parker had a three-point play to tie it, sparking a 31-16 surge to end the half by the Bruins. Alford's triple in the final minute capped the surge to give the Bruins a 46-37 advantage and Looney had three straight baskets early in the second half to make it 54-40.

UAB made a charge from beyond the arc with two triples from Denzel Watts and another from Tyler Madison to cut the deficit to 66-58 midway through the stanza. Hamilton had consecutive hoops moments later to push the margin to 12 and the Blazers never got any closer than seven points down the stretch.

GAME NOTEBOOK: UAB had a 52-37 advantage on the boards in its round of 64 upset of Iowa State. ... Alford hit 3-of-5 3-pointers after making 9-of-11 in the second-round win over SMU. ... The Blazers' bench outscored the Bruins' reserves 27-4.
