No. 17 Utah 80, Stanford 56: Delon Wright had 20 points, seven rebounds and five assists as the Utes outscored the Cardinal 46-17 in the second half and advanced to the semifinals of the Pac-12 tournament in Las Vegas.

Jordan Loveridge collected 18 points, eight rebounds and five assists while Jakob Poeltl scored 16 points for third-seeded Utah (24-7), which made 12 3-pointers and faces No. 2 seed Oregon in Friday’s semifinal. Brekkott Chapman chipped in eight points as the Utes shot 50 percent and won the battle of the boards 39-24 after being outrebounded 19-10 in the first half.

Chasson Randle led No. 6 seed Stanford (19-13) with 22 points and Stefan Nastic added 11 before fouling out in the final minutes. Randle, who made a game-winning 3-pointer in Wednesday’s 71-69 quarterfinal victory over Washington, finished 7-of-16 from the field while his teammates were a combined 12-of-35.

Stanford closed the opening period on a 19-9 run and took a surprising 39-34 lead into the half after shooting 48.1 percent and dominating the boards. The Utes stormed out of the break with an 11-2 run and took a 51-44 lead on back-to-back 3-pointers by Isaiah Wright and Loveridge with just over 14 minutes remaining.

Randle’s three-point play cut the deficit to 53-49 before Utah resumed the onslaught with 14 unanswered points to extend its lead to 67-49 with 7:21 remaining. Delon Wright recorded three blocks and was 4-of-4 from 3-point range for the Utes, who were 12-of-19 from beyond the arc.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Utah has lost three in a row to Oregon, including a 69-58 defeat in Eugene on Feb. 22. … Stanford led at halftime for only the second time in its last 11 games. … Stanford’s two opponents in the Pac-12 tournament – Washington and Utah – combined to shoot 25-of-39 from 3-point range.
