No. 11 Villanova 60, No. 18 Michigan 55: JayVaughn Pinkston delivered the go-ahead basket followed by a game-saving block in the waning seconds as the Wildcats prevailed in the championship game of the Legends Classic in Brooklyn.

Villanova (5-0) was led by Dylan Ennis' 15 points, while Daniel Ochefu added 10 points and two blocks. Pinkston had the biggest block of all, though, stuffing Michigan's Zak Irvin right at the rim in a one-point game after a perfectly executed inbounds play found Irvin underneath the basket with about seven seconds left.

Caris LeVert had 16 points and six rebounds to pace the Wolverines (4-1), who overcame a sub-par shooting performance and only managed 10 assists on 23 baskets. Irvin collected 11 points and Derrick Walton Jr. had 10, but they combined to shoot only 8-of-24 from the field.

The first half ended with the Wildcats ahead 27-20, as they scored the final nine points of the session and held Michigan without a point for nearly 10 minutes spanning the two halves. With the Wolverines trailing 33-20 early in the second half, back-to-back jumpers by Irvin and LeVert ignited a 23-5 surge that tilted the scoreboard in favor of Michigan.

The Wolverines increased their lead to 51-43 with less than six minutes to go before 3-pointers by Ryan Arcidiacono and Ennis helped forge a tie at 51, setting the stage for LeVert to hit back-to-back jumpers for a 55-54 lead with 58 seconds left. Michigan's Mark Donnal missed the front end of a 1-and-1 and Pinkston answered with a tough shot in the lane with 13.4 seconds to go before his enormous block, and Arcidiacono made two foul shots to seal it.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Neither team made a foul shot in the first half as Villanova was 0-of-2 while Michigan did not attempt a free throw. For the game, the Wildcats were 8-of-13 from the stripe while the Wolverines went 3-of-5. ... Pinkston, a Brooklyn native who scored a season-high 15 points in Monday's victory over VCU, was limited to eight points in this one. He did have a season-high nine rebounds. ... LeVert had three of the four steals for Michigan.
