Seton Hall 85, Gardner-Webb 67: Freshman Desi Rodriguez, playing before family and friends in their native Virgin Islands, recorded 15 points, nine rebounds and four steals off the bench as the Pirates advanced to the Paradise Jam championship.

Sterling Gibbs added 16 points and five assists as Seton Hall (3-0) advances to meet the Illinois State in Monday's championship game. Angel Delgado registered 12 points and 11 rebounds and Jaren Sina scored 14 for the Pirates, who recorded eight blocks - three by Brandon Mobley.

Jerome Hill scored 15 points and was 11-of-17 from the free-throw line for the Runnin' Bulldogs (2-2), who face Old Dominion in Monday's consolation contest. Tyler Strange added 13 points, four rebounds, four assists and four steals while Adonis Burbage scored 10 points for Gardner-Webb.

Stephane Manga deposited Gibbs' lob pass to give the Pirates their biggest lead of the first half 36-22 before Strange's 3-pointer with two seconds left made it 39-29 at intermission. Seton Hall scored 13 second-chance points prior to the break and recorded 13 offensive rebounds while winning the battle of the boards 26-13.

Mobley - the only senior in the frontcourt - picked up two fouls in 18 seconds and went to the bench with four 1:34 into the second half but it didn't seem to faze the Pirates. Strange's 3-pointer trimmed the deficit to 46-38 before Seton Hall took control with a 14-4 run - capped by Khadeen Carrington's 3-pointer and Rodriguez's dunk with 13:02 left - and the lead never shrunk below eight while growing to as large as 24 down the stretch.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The contest became chippy at times with Delgado and Hill being whistled for matching technicals in the first half, and Gibbs picking one up in the second after he taunted Strange. ... The Pirates won the battle of the benches 30-14 after outscoring Nevada's reserves 22-11 in Friday's 68-60 first-round victory. ... Delgado has led Seton Hall in rebounds in all three games and is averaging 10.7.
