No. 16 Baylor 77, Texas Tech 74: Taurean Prince scored 20 of his career high-equaling 24 points in the second half as the host Bears rallied for the Big 12 Conference victory.

Rico Gathers and Kenny Chery each scored 18 points and Royce O'Neale added 10 points for Baylor (23-8, 11-7 Big 12), which assured itself of no worse than a No. 4 seed in next week's Big 12 Tournament. Prince also grabbed a game-high nine rebounds and had two steals for the Bears, who trailed by as many as 12 points in the second half.

Freshman Devaugntah Williams recorded season highs of 28 points and eight 3-pointers on nine attempts for Texas Tech (13-18, 3-15). Keenan Evans finished with 15 points and Zach Smith added 10 points and five rebounds for the Red Raiders, which lost despite shooting 52.8 percent, including 10-of-19 from 3-point range.

Williams sank three 3-pointers in the first five minutes and the Red Raiders made five of their first six treys while building a 19-11 lead. But Gathers scored five points and Chery added a 3-pointer during a 8-0 run as Baylor rallied to tie it, and Texas Tech went into halftime nursing a 33-32 lead.

Williams got hot again, sinking three more 3-pointers in less than seven minutes to give the Red Raiders their largest lead 51-39. But Baylor chipped away and went on a late 12-0 run capped by back-to-back 3-pointers by O'Neale to take a 71-65 lead, and Chery's two free throws with 4.6 seconds left sealed it before Williams sank his eighth trey at the buzzer.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Prince has scored at least 20 points in five of the last eight games. ... Texas Tech has dropped its last 17 games outside Lubbock since winning at Oklahoma 68-60 on Feb. 12, 2014. ... Baylor trailed at halftime for only the fourth time in 31 games his season.
